FAQ
What is Compression Molding?
Compression Molding is the process of molding a rubber part with high heat in a mold base cavity tool. A good analogy would be similar to the process of making waffles. Not as simple of course but for more information about the science behind it, here is a good read on Science Direct.

Popular items: seals, gaskets, O-rings, sound dampening parts, thermal conductive parts
What is Liquid Injection Molding (LIM)?
Injection Molding is the process of injecting liquid material into a mold machine to achieve a molded finished part. Liquid material and agent are mixed together to form the liquid for injection into the mold base cavity. The part is formed and cured inside the mold cavity.

Popular items: action camera seals, medical devices components, hearing aids, head phones.
Differences between Compression vs Injection Molding?
Below are some common differences between the two process. Each option depends on design and requirements. To briefly summarize both, Compression molding is slower but offers low-cost initial investment. Injection molding is faster, more precise and higher initial investment cost.
Compression Molding:
Pros: Cost effective tooling cost, common parts, customize parts, prototyping
Cons: Manual process, low production, more waste “flashing”
Injection Molding:
Pros: Automation, higher quality & precision, less waste, custom parts, common parts
Cons: Higher tooling cost and custom engineered design
What is Silicone Rubber Compression Molding?
Silicone Rubber Compressing Molding is the process of Compression Molding with Silicone Rubber as the material. Same benefits as previously mention in the Q/A above for compression molding.
What is Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Injection Molding?
LSR Injection Molding is the process of injecting Liquid Silicone Rubber into the molding machine to make the part. Refer to the QA above for injection molding.
